There she was
walking with him, hand in hand
until she fell with a thud and pause
Her legs never again let her stand
Suddenly she saw
Alone was she, totally helpless
The world moved on without a tear
Unnoticed was a face, just merciless
Her own kith and kin,
Her blood and sweat
Her own creation, her children
Missing her, were they or not, who bet
Immersed in their own life
Left her alone, writhing in pain
Was it the leg or her heart
Only she could tell but in vain
All along her world with no blur
Seemed black and white and no color
Alone she pondered and cursed
Her leg, her heart, her soul
In this dark time,
She cried, she cried, she cried
Her voice reaching only her eyes
Her legs weak, not anymore willing to try
