Rhyme and Reflection

Spinning life’s chaos into laughs, stories, and verses — because therapy is expensive

First Day at School

Tuesday, September 02, 2008 | 1 minute read

Your first day at school
Excited as you were
Totally oblivious were you
of the new world, new pool

You were ready at the get go
in all your gears and brimming to go
Somehow I expected you to be scared
So I can be the dad and show you how to row

At the right time, you jumped in
With brimming innocence and unbound eagerness
As much as I was scared to see you there
You showed bravery far ahead your age

Just a brief hesitation, as you made new friends
Starting a new journey, your own world
Left was I standing and waving a bye
Not believing that you are ready to grow
