Rhyme and Reflection

Spinning life’s chaos into laughs, stories, and verses — because therapy is expensive

Growing Apart

Sunday, July 04, 2010 | 1 minute read

Time creates the divide
You and I will recognize
Growing slowly apart
We let a chasm build an invisible wall

Priorities change, likes give way to annoyance
What once seemed the lovable quirks
Now takes all the scarce resources
Draining the last sap of the still remaining energy

Together we planned to lead a life
Now it is forced circumstantially
This loveless life drags on aimlessly
Leaving but bad taste all around

Sometimes I wish this will not last
My life will break free to free all
But the rhythm of the relationship
Dances to the daily quibbles of life and death with no recall
