Waiting for Her

Tuesday, June 14, 2011 | 1 minute read

Waking up in the morning
I turned around to kiss the
sweet girl next to me
She hurriedly returned the kiss
As I struggled to comprehend her identity

Sitting at the breakfast table
I lazily sipped my coffee
Trying to chat with my wife
But standing there was an unknown person
With a blank stare and a growling face

Arriving at work, I eagerly called
to let her know that I missed her in the day
to tell her one more time, I loved her
She picked the phone after a long wait
And hung up saying she was busy with her job

Evening time, I rushed back from work
Asking to take her to dinner and more
Beside me stood a strange person
A hurried house wife or a dark stranger from work

Late at night, I retired to my bed
Hoping one last time for the comfort of my wife
Alas! The mother of my children
showed up at the bedside exhausted and tired
While I patiently stayed waiting for her*
