Glimmer of Hope

Wednesday, August 08, 2012 | 1 minute read

Tired and exhausted, I rush back to her
Embracing her from behind, I rest my head
On her dark, black cascade of hair
Reviving passion, dreams and a glimmer of hope

Wrapping into her freshly washed hair
I breathe deep to inhale the smell and joy
Letting the time stand still
To imbibe the moment even as it starts to roll

I turn her around, her eyes looking at me
The brief twinkle in that glitter soothes me
Her cold attitude dampens not my enthusiasm
The joy of holding her slowly spreads

Still crying from my own sorrow
I clasp her hand and hug her close
Her warm presence sparks all around me
Dissipating the hurt, allowing the flow of heat

The deep sense of comfort that I yearn
In her, I find all my sorrows vanish
Leaving me with an untold glimmer of hope
To ponder the next day to begin
