I wake up in the morning and go tap tap tap tap
updating my status on Twitter, Facebook and Tumblr
Announcing to the world my quibbles, my fuss, my dripping sap
I sip my coffee and brush my teeth
While quickly sneaking in between an update indeed
I drive to work, my eyes on the road absconding
While enthusiastically reading and responding
to the unknown aunt on the picture of her cat chomping
I rush into work past the eyes staring
To write about the day and other stories not so daring
My lunch, my break, my walk, my dame
Every little nugget is direct to the web anyway
I have no shame or claim to fame
As I post everything not interesting and pretty mundane
I continue to post
About the dog, about Haiti, or the man sitting on the faraway titi
I really don’t care if you pass or read my graffiti
Every little happening, every nod every dash
I like to see it there bold, bright and ready to flash
Late in the night I pull myself onto my bed
My feeble eyes and legs pulling me astray
I desperately reach to get my handset from the tray
To go tap tap tap one more time on this day
