Rhyme and Reflection

Spinning life’s chaos into laughs, stories, and verses — because therapy is expensive

Threshold

Sunday, March 23, 2014 | 1 minute read

Watch that step
As you thread higher in time
Crossing the threshold
Into a new mine
Lurking are the unknown and surprises
Following you are the memories byzantine
Wrapped in the bubbles of time

Pause that step
To say thank you to the follower bovine
And a grand hello to the new grime
never you know what will remain pristine
or what fizzles into the ashes of asinine

Hold that tear
No one will see that falling enzyme
'Cause each of us is busy in our stymie
That water droplet will have to find a lonely path from its prime

Let go the bindings
Embrace the moment in crime
Enjoy the tide
As you slowly glide past the threshold of time
Into the unknown divine

The future will soon become the past
Leaving behind traces of dust and brine
Is that gold or silver or another enzyme
Not you but others behind work to decipher
As you walk past the threshold into the new rhyme
