Departed

Tuesday, February 10, 2015 | 1 minute read

He lay on the bed with his face frail
revealing the shine of that unknown peace
He was long gone on that one way trail
Departing .. leaving behind many unfinished business amiss

She struggled to gather her surroundings
Thousand emotions raced to garner her attention
The tug of the mundane life was real and binding
While she wanted time to grieve without any apprehension

The others sauntered in many ways
Some cared, wanting to help, some there, just to be there
Few others hoped to share the faded glory days
Carrying back shards of gossip to spread every other stare

The children stood silently in the corner
Not comprehending the tragedy that departed the authority
The many noises masked their sublime emotions
harshly flinging them across the threshold into the age of majority

Slowly time crawled forward
All the many that came left their way
Leaving behind the new empty vacuum
for her to embrace and cry on the remembrance day
