Sitting in a Crowded Train

Thursday, October 15, 2015 | 1 minute read

Sitting in the crowded train
Letting wild thoughts run in the brain
Watching the I66 get blanketed with rain
Counting the stopped traffic and drivers in vain
As the train veers into the tunnel, peering with strain
I see only the reflection of two little boys playing train
A new stop brings more into the terrain
Jostling for space, pushing each other with restrain
Smiling to hide the anxious anger from drain
The smell in the hot space runs fowl giving me migraine
Oh! The driver announces delay with a casual grain
More jostling and murmurs but all eyes still glued to the iPad strain
I can do nothing trapped but smile sitting in the crowded train
