Rhyme and Reflection

Spinning life’s chaos into laughs, stories, and verses — because therapy is expensive

Cold Water

Friday, March 25, 2016 | 1 minute read

Jumping into the cold cold water
I feel my shivering lips go pritter-pratter
All other senses stand numb with no matter
Jumping into the cold cold water

Many thoughts quickly whiz like liquid batter
The coldness settles in every part, crevice and crater
I force a smile oozing tears and laughter
Jumping into the cold cold water

Minutes later, I start enjoying this cold water
The inherent heat spreads the warmth slowly after
as my thoughts race from philosophy to pristine prater
Jumping into the cold cold water

Sometimes I shriek getting little fatter
The whimsical cold pricks yet stops to matter
The real joy of the shower engulfs with smatter
Jumping into the cold cold water
