Up in the mountain hidden from sight
Seductive, serene yet desolate
The long winding road invites me
Down in the valley
The dirty crowded road
Bristling with people beckons me
While I stand at the crossroad searching for the road leading to you
While I stand at the crossroad
Searching for the road leading to you
asking where is the road leading to you
Sometimes I want to run on the hard gravel path
Only to collapse into your inviting open arm
Sometimes I want to crawl slowly on the sand covered path
Only to bury myself in your smiling charm
Sometimes mad and exhausted I sit watching, waiting
Until the demure happiness drags me to you from harm
As I traverse the many unchartered road narrow
I find the path of joy crisscrosses the trail of sorrow
My heart looks back to see the shards of memories in the barrow
While my eyes seek that simple path leading to you like farrow
Today I walk the path with not much thought
Delighted in the joy that the road has brought
Smelling the air reminding everything I ever sought
For I know the journey may lead on path with danger fraught
the destination may change; but life with you will never be naught
