Rhyme and Reflection

Spinning life’s chaos into laughs, stories, and verses — because therapy is expensive

Broken

Wednesday, June 26, 2019 | 1 minute read

Old, baffled, totally in disarray
power of thinking shrunk and gone astray
The once mighty, now a poor self and fray
hanging to dear life, living shrunken and gray

Looking back, the days when she ruled by bray
Pushing people to her beck and cray
living life on her terms in her day
nonchalantly pushing others from her tray

Many lost battles colored her life
Yet she rose above this to strive
Her confidence peppered with skills and pride
Kept her moving against all odds and will and tide

She made friends, she made enemies
People fought to get in her company and limelight
Such was the aura that pulled many into spotlight
Yet she callously pushed them when she decided to change the light

Now in the sunset of her life
She struggled to live her daily life
Alone and isolated she sat and cried
Wishing for wishes that may never materialize
