Those were the days

Those were the days
When we were in love and alive
You would wait for me
To run into my arms
You would look into my eyes
To dream and turn your charms
You would profess to stay
To eternity, forever with me always
Those were the days

Those were the days
When we were young and naive
You would kiss me tender
To stay locked with me
You would fight with me
To make up and surrender
You would hug me tight
To forget the world and blunder
Those were the days

Those were the days
When we were opposites and caroused all night
You were the sunshine
To the midnight sky that I was
You were the anchor
To the turbulence that I was
You were the destiny
To the pilgrim that I was
Those were the days
