Rhyme and Reflection

Spinning life’s chaos into laughs, stories, and verses — because therapy is expensive

Life Philosophies

Friday, June 19, 2020 | 1 minute read

I let go the need to be perfect
Illusion it is, to aim for this object
Mistakes happen every day but call it not a defect
Win or lose, it is my life beautifully imperfect

I let go of self-criticism
talking to myself, treating self with disdain
The life I create instead
Waking every day to fall and rise again

I let go blaming
‘cause Im not a victim, nor helpless
This is my life
I’m what I believe, living my dreams and plus

I let go judging
Never want to react
to your opinion and rage
To give power away, over my life enact

I let go making assumptions
Telling stories, letting my mind play a game
Simply taking a walk to breathe fresh air
Makes me want to accept life with dignity and shame

I let go chasing happiness
It is not a destination I seek
But a journey where I walk and smile
Sometimes letting others have a quick peek

I let go worrying about the far away future
All I have is today
Yesterday is gone, tomorrow may never rupture
Live I do in full, every moment every day
