Corona virus came unannounced in twenty-twenty
Disrupting the life that we knew
Making us pause and think
about the life that we now live and chew
My older son did not complain
He usually prefers to be alone and still
this was right along his lane
letting him run his mill
staying indoors and following the drill
My other son was confused
His was a life that knew no indoors
His circle of friends stayed away
Even while wearing a mask
They did not play with invitations refused
The virus disrupted our life and dame
Sleep was never the same
Dinner merged with time and had no shame
Eating at odd hours - breakfast, dinner or give any name
Everyone behaved odd
Sitting alone on their tod
The dog refused to bark at the person wearing gaud
Strange it seems, life was better beneath the sod
Finally, here I stand
Mask and sanitized hand
Fighting to not mingle and band
Accepting the new life on this land
