Spinning life’s chaos into laughs, stories, and verses — because therapy is expensive

Dream Girl

Sunday, October 11, 2020 | 1 minute read

At the most inopportune time,
At the least expected place,
She stood inconspicuous,
Dwarfed by the many who towered over her-
Unknowingly becoming the person
I’d one day long to have by my side.

As I walked past the crowd, I bumped into her
I apologized, she turned her face
And flashed a big smile,
“Hi I’m ..”
Becoming the dream
I’d crave to see every moment.

Thus began a new friendship
Morphing from a simple text
to extended chats,
To ridiculously long conversations about mundane things-
Becoming the reason
I carried my phone night and day

Life took upon itself to plan the rest of the game
While we got lost within each other,
Finding every excuse to run into the other-
Becoming the glue
That pulled us into a love affair

Sometimes fighting over trivial things,
Quickly dissolving into sweet nothings,
Cuddled in each other’s arms,
Losing sight of the real world-
Becoming the tick of the clock
That we moved with the beat of our hearts.
As the moon waxed and waned,
She etched herself into my life,
Becoming the dream girl
I had always desired,
Becoming the sunshine
That lit up every moment,
Becoming the only reason
I wanted to wake up every day.
