Second amendment .. a constitutional right to bear arms .. fully support this right .. yet the intention was right when made but now, it is past its time .. a change is needed .. We live in a society with rules, laws and a judiciary system not the jungles of 1700’s .. guns are a must for law enforcement people not ordinary citizens let alone immature and troubled youths .. yet our elected officials refuse to change .. the ignorance persists while lives .. innocent lives are at stake .. kids being killed in large numbers due to this “right to bear arms” .. ignorant and troubled people getting hold of weapons that don't belong in society .. when will we see the winds of change?

The little girl
turned around
startled
Time stood still
the bullet raced towards her
inching its way
Her eyes opened wide
voice loud
Yet no sound made
She stretched her arms
to grab
whatever
next to her
but fell

Closing her eyes
she screamed
“Mommy”

The bullet pierced
her chest
Ripping the skin,
the flesh
splashing blood,
breaking
her bones

She lay
on the ground
innocent
eyes open
still dreaming

Time stood still
a moment becoming an eternity ..
