Is it me or Is it the twilight of the land we lovingly call the USA? These recent years have seen quite the wild show, with racism, xenophobia, gunplay, natural disasters, and the drama in Congress .. It's enough to make you scratch your head and wonder where is this all heading to ?
Honestly, I'm not entirely certain how this grand spectacle will untangle itself. There's a mix of radical elements and some folks who should've retired like, a decade ago, still steering the ship, even if it seems to be headed in the opposite direction of progress.
Looking back two decades, 9/11 feels like the foundation stone for a series of peculiar and disastrous events. As soon as we could breathe, the financial crisis engulfed the land .. Since then, the awkward feeling of things spiraling southward persists.
Sure, there's plenty of wealth and abundance .. stock market boom, real estate rise, bitcoins .. yet the wealth seems stashed away in the pockets of select few .. with many left behind.
There’s been a rapid rise in technology .. allowing connecting with people and sharing the mundane and the worst .. And thanks to Instagram and TikTok, reality seems to have taken a vacation, leaving us with an insatiable hunger for artificial happiness. Our relationships, meanwhile, are about as deep as a kiddie pool. These symptoms aren't unique to the USA; they're like a worldwide flu. But they sure hit home in a nation that appears to be showing its age.
.. and speaking of flue .. the corona virus .. the real and the pretend changed habits, took lives, jobs and ultimately left a deep scar on this planet.
In between this drama, the federal government had its own reality show .. interest rate hovering at 0% for a decade and free money for the not-so-poor .. and when folks started enjoying the party, the fed pulled the rug with a steep increase in rates. Aha! .. the little guy was crushed again ..It's like the government has a twisted sense of humor.
The technology tsunami is now creating the waves of automation with artificial intelligence .. once again, on the brink of changing everything in its path ..
But I’m digressing .. for a massive, successful country, these tsunami’s are nothing .. we should be able to predict and manage it .. but mega empires have a habit of nodding off and falling to complacency. So, what makes this place different? Perhaps it's time for the torch to be passed to the next big player. It's like a cosmic game of musical chairs, and we're all trying to find our seats. Is it game over? Or is it a nice sweep and new shoreline shows up ..
