A Flame Once Loved

Sunday, February 16, 2025 | 1 minute read

Sitting by the window, gazing at the rain,
I thought of the flame that once eased my pain
Its warmth was fleeting, but still, it stayed,
Lingering in shadows where memories played

Walking through the garden, flowers in bloom,
I felt the weight of an unseen gloom
The petals whispered of a time now gone,
A love that burned but couldn’t hold on

Lying in the dark, the quiet stretched deep,
The scars of longing refused to sleep
Each wound, a story, etched in my chest,
A tale of love that wouldn’t find rest

Waking at dawn as the sun gently rose,
The ember of yearning silently glows
Though the flame has faded, its call still near,
A love once lost, forever remains dear
